It’s not the cards that you have all the time that makes you a winner or a loser
Doyle Brunson
No matter the advantages or disadvantages you were born into this life with, it’s how you choose to use this life that matters. The old adage, it’s not about the cards you were dealt but how you play them, really does hold true. If you choose not to use your cards because you’re feeling sorry for yourself since you were dealt a weak hand, it’s unlikely you’ll get very far. If you use your cards with courage despite your disadvantages, you’re more likely to win. You can’t always be a winner. The greatest poker players in the world still lose. If I put you heads up against Lebron James, you’re going to lose; If I put you up against Doyle Brunson at a poker table, you could potentially win. Poker is like life; you can be the best player in the world and still lose. Anybody can win, but not everyone can handle a loss. If you can handle a loss, you can risk it all, and sometimes that means the difference between achieving or falling short. I can guarantee there is someone out there chasing your same goals and putting it all on the line.
The key to No-Limit… is to put a man to a decision for all his chips
