These reasonings do not cohere: I am richer than you, therefore I am better than you; I am more eloquent than you, therefore I am better than you. On the contrary these rather cohere, I am richer than you, therefore my possessions are greater than yours: I am more eloquent than you, therefore my speech is superior to yours. But you are neither possession nor speech.
Epictetus
These things do not make you. The person you are with or without these things is who you are. Be a virtuous person whose worth need not depend on externalities, not a weak person hiding behind money, status, talents, and whatever else our human ego craves for validation. Love unconditionally whom ever you meet, don’t withhold the sacred energy of love by gatekeeping it for whoever your ego deems worthy. Whilst they breathe, love them, whilst you breathe, love.
