Variety is the spice of life. The problem isn’t that we don’t like trying new things. The problem is that we find something we like and assume it is the best we will find. I know you like your native country, your favorite restaurant, your current job, and your hobbies, but what’s stopping you from experiencing new variations? You don’t have to drop everything you’re doing; by all means, continue. I think what Epictetus is saying here is to try to get a taste of what’s out there because life has a lot to offer, much more than we like to think.
