You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching, Love like you’ll never be hurt, Sing like there’s nobody listening, And live like it’s heaven on earth.
William W. Purkey
I’ve recently read that scientists have found a black hole 30 billion times the size of our sun. I get so caught up in our world that I forget how small we are. In the past hundred years, we’ve been able to go from riding station wagons to flying rocket ships to the moon and putting space rovers on Mars. You’d think after thirteen billion years, other civilizations out there would have far exceeded these innovations, and the universe would be teaming with life. Except, as far as we’re aware, it’s not. We’ve been able to map out much of the universe but haven’t spotted any Dyson spheres or artificial structures floating through space. It should start to dawn on you, holy shit; we may be some of the luckiest motherfuckers to ever exist in the entire universe, a universe so fucking big one black hole can be 30 billion times the size of our sun and still be a mere speck in the distant backdrop of space. The only fully conscious species on a planet with millions of organisms, each of us overcoming the one in three hundred trillion odds of being born. Yet what occupies your mind on a day-to-day basis? Probably not gratitude. I hope you make this shit heaven on earth. I’m talking dirty today because I want to transfer the energy of not giving a fuck what other people think of you. Go fucking, dance, sing, or whatever your heart desires, and stop worrying about irrelevant things like what people think. In a thousand years, no one will care, and you’ll be forgotten. Live it up.
