All cruelty springs from weakness
Seneca
Someone says something hateful because they are angry or hurt. Someone kills someone because they are scared, angry, greedy, or intoxicated. Someone does something you don’t like out of spite or lack of consideration. Behind every evil person, there lies a weakness.
If someone says something hateful, a strong person returns words of kindness. If a strong person is scared, they are still courageous. If a strong person is angry, they know they are responsible for feeling this emotion. Strong people manage their desires in such a way they will never steal from another, for they are content with never receiving the object of their desire. Strong people are considerate of other people’s feelings even when these people are not considerate of theirs. I hope this encourages you to be strong, not because it is easy but because it is hard, because it is right.
