A song or a musical composition is a thing of no great consequence, but to use music as a way of strengthening the soul and making it fit for the reception of virtue is a thing worth doing
Musonius Rufus
Everyone is born an artist until the world kills them with logic and orderliness. Find this younger self deep inside you with something to share, and put whatever that thing of yours is into the world. Art is like a vulnerable relationship with someone you’re in love with. You share the parts of yourself you’d never share with anyone else with a keen understanding they won’t like everything you have to show. The imperfection in the art is what makes it perfect, to begin with. If I printed a photo of you, it would be a nearly perfect representation of you rather than if I were to paint you by hand, yet my poor attempt would likely resonate with more connectivity. Spending time putting something into the world that will leave someone in “ah” is a noble pursuit. The amount of positive energy one can distribute with artwork in its many forms is unparallel compared to most other occupations. Inversely, the amount of negative energy is also unparallel. Create the world in your likeness; you deserve it.
